Madden 20: Best Franchise Teams 16-9


We are covering teams 16-9 in this article, but if you missed 24-17 you can read about them here. Again, this is 100% based on the numbers assigned to guys in Madden by EA then put into formulas to spit out rankings.

16). Seattle Seahawks





Pros:

  • One of the best QB's in the game long term
  • High end cap situation to maintain and improve team
  • Upper level speed on both sides of the ball

Cons:

  • One of the worst coverage secondaries in the game
  • Pass rush lacks stars, especially on the edge
  • Weapons at the TE and WR 3 are below league average

15).Green Bay Packers 





Pros:

  • Top 10 Pass Rush with some additional upside
  • Youth across the board, but especially on the defensive side
  • O-Line in the top half of the league

Cons:

  • Weapons are substandard
  • Cap situations will be difficult to manage moving forward
  • Secondary coverage scores are below average 

14). New England Patriots





Pros:

  • Best coverage secondary in the game
  • Weapons are elite at nearly every level
  • O-Line is dominant
  • QB is older but still offers high end value

Cons:

  • Team lacks speed in most positions
  • Team is older at most positions
  • Pass rush is one of the worst in the entire league

13). Carolina Panthers





Pros:

  • One of the fastest teams across the board in game
  • QB still has high end upside
  • Weapons are above league average 
  • O line is above league average

Cons:

  • Secondary coverage ability is below league average
  • Age of the team is trending to the older side
  • Cap has the potential to get away from team if not managed properly

12). Baltimore Ravens





Pros:

  • One of the best coverage secondary units in game
  • Very young team across the board
  • O line is near elite level
  • QB offers long term upside
Cons:
  • While young, weapons are not up to league average
  • Team speed is below league average outside of WR
  • Cap is trending to the dangerous side

11). San Francisco 49ers





Pros:

  • Elite team speed, especially on offense
  • Pass Rush offers a lot of talent and upside
  • O-line in elite territory
  • Secondary coverage ability is high end

Cons:

  • Cap situation is teetering on dire
  • QB offers little upside at a heavy cost
  • Weapons are young and fast but lack elite talent outside of TE

10). Indianapolis Colts





Pros:

  • QB situation is one of the best in the league
  • O-line is elite with youth
  • Cap situation allows for future flexibility
  • Youth on both sides of the ball

Cons:

  • Secondary coverage score is bottom tier
  • Team speed outside of WR is lacking
  • Pass rush is right about league average

9). Kansas City Chiefs





Pros:

  • Best QB situation in the game
  • Fastest team speed in the game
  • Upper tier youth across the board
  • Weapons trending on elite territory 

Cons:

  • O-Line is a serious concern
  • Cap situation can easily shift into  a disaster
  • Secondary coverage is on the lower end of the league

Madden 20 Beta Experience: A positive experience from a game not quite done yet.

After spending the weekend scouring the ins and outs of Madden 20 via the closed beta, I found myself asking one question…Is it August 2 nd yet? While the game is still being worked on you couldn’t help but feel as if the game play finally fulfilled many of the promises we had been given over the past couple releases.
