Madden 20: Best Franchise Teams 24-17


We are covering teams 24-17 in this article, but if you missed 32-25 you can read about them here. Again, this is 100% based on the numbers assigned to guys in Madden by EA then put into formulas to spit out rankings.

24). New York Jets






Pros:

  • Better than league average cap situation
  • Secondary coverage grade hits about league average
  • QB situation is solid with upside due to youth

Cons:

  • A bad O-Line will make it hard to have a lot of success
  • Pass rush is lacking, especially at the LB level
  • Team isn't old but it's not necessarily young either

23). Jacksonville Jaguars







Pros:

  • One of the better coverage units in all of Madden
  • League average offensive line with some youth upside
  • Outside pass rush is really good, but interior rush leaves something to be desired
Cons:
  • Worst offensive weapons in Madden
  • Serious cap issues moving forward
  • QB situation is a problem based on the value of the starter and his long term contract

22). Pittsburgh Steelers






Pros:

  • Top 5 Offensive Line
  • Relatively young core to work with moving forward
  • Solid pass rush at both levels

Cons:

  • Cap situation moving forward is a problem
  • Weapons outside of Smith-Schuster are lacking
  • Team Speed is low across the board
  • Secondary lacks much coverage talent
  • Aging QB will need to be addressed soon

21). Arizona Cardinals







Pros:

  • Solid QB of the future on roster
  • Secondary coverage score is top 10
  • Cap considerations going forward are a good
  • Speed on both sides of the ball is solid

Cons:

  • Strength of the team isn't found in it's youth
  • Offensive weapons are lacking, but young at least
  • Little pass rush to be seen at either level
  • O line is one of the worst in the game

20). Cincinnati Bengals







Pros:

  • Very solid cap situation moving forward
  • Both sides of the ball possess solid speed
  • Offensive weapons in all phases are high end
  • Pass rush is older but possess quality starters and depth

Cons:

  • QB situation is bottom of the league and needs addressed immediately 
  • O-Line will offer little to nothing in terms of blocking
  • Secondary has a singular league average or better player coverage wise
  • Team talent is older

19). Atlanta Falcons







Pros:

  • Top set of offensive weapons in the game
  • Speed on both sides of the field, especially prevalent in LB group
  • Quality players on the younger side

Cons:

  • Serious cap issues in the first off-season
  • Pass rush is limited
  • O line took a step back but does offer youth

18). Tampa Bay Buccaneers 






Pros:

  • Top 5 fastest team in the game
  • Great cap flexibility allows for solid long term outlook
  • Solid foundation of young talent across the team

Cons:

  • Worst coverage secondary in the game
  • Pass rush is limited to a aging group
  • Weapons outside of three guys are limited
  • Questions at QB

17). Tennessee Titans







Pro:

  • One of the best Pass Rushing units in game
  • Secondary coverage offers upper level stats as a unit
  • QB situation is league average
  • O line is league average

Cons:

  • Team lacks speed across most areas
  • Weapons have some promise but lack stars outside of TE
  • Youth is about league average however secondary is on the older side

Madden 20 Beta Experience: A positive experience from a game not quite done yet.

After spending the weekend scouring the ins and outs of Madden 20 via the closed beta, I found myself asking one question…Is it August 2 nd yet? While the game is still being worked on you couldn’t help but feel as if the game play finally fulfilled many of the promises we had been given over the past couple releases.
