Staying in sync with our article yesterday, I took a crack at ranking the top five HB's for Madden 20 based on abilities.This ranking does not take age, attributes, or team into consideration they are based solely on their Superstar and X Factor abilities.
#5) Saquon Barkley - New York Giants
The Abilities:

What it does: When they enter the zone this ability increases their fake out rate on the next juke, spin, or hurdle
Super Star Ability: Evasive
What it does: Ball carriers with this ability have faster juke and spin animations
What it does: Running backs with this ability have better catch in traffic and route running when coming out of the backfield against linebackers and linemen.
Why he made the list: Saquon Barley offers a nice variety in terms of his ability. First One Free is a fake out increasing ability, that when combined with Evasive makes Barkely a dangerous weapon in the running game. Along with his running prowess, Backfield Mismatch allows Barkley to act as a true dual threat back taking advantage of linebackers in coverage. In the end, Barkley's rounded abilities find him a spot in the top 5.
#4) Melvin Gordon - Los Angeles Chargers
The Abilities:
X Factor Ability: First One Free
What it does: When they enter the zone this ability increases their fake out rate on the next juke, spin, or hurdle
Super Star Ability: Juke Box
What it does: Ball carriers with this ability have faster just animations
Super Star Ability: Pin-N-Pull Guru
What it does: Ball carriers with this ability receiver better blocking on pitch, toss, and counter plays.
#3) Ezekiel Elliott - Dallas Cowboys
The Abilities:
X Factor Ability: First One Free
What it does: When they enter the zone this ability increases their fake out rate on the next juke, spin, or hurdle
Super Star Ability: Arm Bar
What it does: Ball carriers with this ability have more powerful stiff arm animations
Super Star Ability: Inside Zone Guru
What this ability does: Ball carriers with this ability receive better blocking on inside zone plays.
#2) Christian McCaffrey - Carolina Panthers
The Abilities:
X Factor Ability: Satellite
What this ability does: When they enter the zone, this ability increase their success rate on possession and RAC catches against single coverage.
Super Star Ability: Spin Cycle
What this ability does: Ball Carriers with this ability have faster spin animations
Super Star Ability: Backfield Master
What this ability does: When lined up in the backfield, players with this ability have access to four additional hot routes, better route running, and improved catching against linebackers and linemen.
Why he made the list: McCaffrey offers a lot to like to someone who wants a back who can run and catch. With the Satellite X Factor ability he receives a bonus in single coverage for possession and RAC catches which should make him a great weapon against man coverage. Spin Cycle speeds of his spin animation allowing him to make defenders miss more easily. The previous abilities were nice, but it is Backfield Master that pushed McCaffrey up the list. With Backfield Master McCaffrey is ready built to dominate in the passing game out of the backfield.
#1: Alvin Kamara - New Orleans Saints
The Abilities:
X Factor Ability: Satellite
What this ability does: When they enter the zone, this ability increase their success rate on possession and RAC catches against single coverage.
Super Star Ability: Matchup Nightmare
What this ability does: Receivers with this ability make sharper cuts and frequently win contested catches when covered by linebackers and linemen.
Super Star Ability: Running Back Apprentice
What this ability does: When lined up in the backfield, players with this ability have access to four additional hot routes during pre-play adjustments.
Why he made the list: Kamara comes in at #1 on our list due to his elite versatility as a receiving threat. Kamara, like McCaffrey, possess Satellite giving him an advantage while in single coverage. Where Kamara shines above is Matchup Nightmare. With Matchup Nightmare Kamara can leave a defender in his dust making sharp cuts to gain separation. Add in the fact Matchup Nightmare improves contested catches as well and Linebackers should be scared as he will be nearly uncoverable to CPU defenders.
