Top 5 Madden 20 WR's Based on Superstar and X Factor Abilities
Our friends over at Madden School continue to do a nice job of breaking down all the individual abilities, this time for each WR's HERE. Staying in sync with our article yesterday, I took a crack at ranking the top five WR's for Madden 20 based on abilities. This ranking does not take age, attributes, or team into consideration they are based solely on their Superstar and X Factor abilities.
#5) AJ Green - Cincinnati Bengals
The Abilities:
X Factor Ability: Double Me
What it does: When they enter the zone, this ability increases their success rate on aggressive catches against single coverage
Super Star Ability: Cross Specialist
What it does: Receivers with this ability run sharper routes and catch more consistently while running crossing routes.
Super Star Ability: Streak Specialist
Super Star Ability: Streak Specialist
What it does: Receivers with this ability run sharper routes and catch more consistently while running streak routes.
Why he made the list: AJ Green is a top deep ball threat in Madden. With the Double Me X Factor ability Green has improved aggressive catching when in single coverage. Add to that the Streak Specialist giving him improved catching while running streaks, only he and Mike Evans possess this ability, and you can see why he is so dangerous. This spot came down to Green and Evans, but the tie went to Green for Cross Specialist compared to Evans Curl Specialist.
#4) Adam Thielen- Minnesota Vikings
The Abilities:
X Factor Ability: Double Me
What it does: When they enter the zone, this ability increases their success rate on aggressive catches against single coverage
Super Star Ability: Slot-O-Matic
What it does: When lined up in the slot, receivers with this ability make faster cuts and have better hands on short routes.
Super Star Ability: Slot Apprentice
What it does: When lined up in the slot, players with this ability have access to four additional hot routes during pre-play adjustments.
#3) Odell Beckham - Cleveland Browns
The Abilities:
X Factor Ability: Rac'em Up
What this ability does: When they enter the zone, this ability increases their success rate on RAC catches against single coverage
Super Star Ability: Juke Box
What it does: Ball carriers with this ability have faster juke animations
Super Star Ability: Grab N Go
What this ability does: After securing a catch, ball carriers with this ability can quickly shift momentum, change direction, and run the corner without sacrificing speed.
#2) DeAndre Hopkins - Houston Texans
The Abilities:
X Factor Ability: Double Me
What it does: When they enter the zone, this ability increases their success rate on aggressive catches against single coverage
Super Star Ability: Red Zone Threat
What this ability does: When in the red zone, receivers with this ability have a better chance to win contested catches against single coverage.
Super Star Ability: Post Flag Elite
What this ability does: Receivers with this ability run sharper routes and catch more consistently while running post and corner routes.
Why he made the list: DeAndre Hopkins will find himself a fan favorite for Madden 20 as a Red Zone Killer. Using a combination of Double Me and Red Zone Threat he will find himself uncoverable at times when facing one on one coverage in the red zone. Add in Post Flag Elite giving him and advantage on the always deadly post route, and that lands Hopkins towards the top of the top 5 WR's.
#1) Antonio Brown - Oakland Raiders
The Abilities:
X Factor Ability: Rac'em Up
What this ability does: When they enter the zone, this ability increases their success rate on RAC catches against single coverage
Super Star Ability: Grab N Go
What this ability does: After securing a catch, ball carriers with this ability can quickly shift momentum, change direction, and run the corner without sacrificing speed.
Super Star Ability: WR Apprentice
What this ability does: When lined up at any wide receiver position, players with this ability have access to four additional hot routes during pre-play adjustments.
Why he made the list: Coming in at #1 is the long time standout Antonio Brown. Brown tops the list with a deadly trio of abilities. Rac'em Up and Grb N Go combine to make Brown the best run after the catch receiver in the game. Added on to that, Brown is only one of two WR's in the game to posses the WR Apprentice ability which unlocks four very solid hot routes pre snap. All of this combined make Brown a deadly weapon.
